Hello,

I can't figure out how to change the scale that Rhino Render has randomly mapped my materials with.. It is a basic paper texture and should be about 1% of its current size.

How do I adjust the scale, or set the tiling preferences for the material? It's just a basic b/w bitmap image being used for the color map the bump map.

I thought that it may have to do with the mapping widgets, but I cannot get them to appear either by typing the command, or by using the button in the render tab... potentially a bug?

See the image for the overblown scale I can't change.

Any help would be appreciated!

So I though I had solved the problem, but now I believe I have just uncovered more bugs.

initially my screen looked like this:

I managed to get the properties tab> texture mapping give me the option for XYZ scaling by clicking on the UV editor icon and creating a rectangular box (whatever that is supposed to do?). After I did that, I could see this:

But I am unable to replicate this on any more objects!!! it only worked once. I was unable to use the match material properties to translate this to other objects... the command bar gave me a bunch of text and then no results. Here is the text from the command history when I attempted to match properties:

Select objects for property editing ( Visible=Yes ): _Pause

Select objects for property editing ( Visible=Yes ):

Select objects for property editing. Press Enter when done ( Visible=Yes ):

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _Material

Material source <Layer> ( Layer  Parent  Object  Match ): _Match

Select object to match: _Pause

Select object to match:

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _Color=Yes

Unknown command: _Color=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _GlossFinish=Yes

Unknown command: _GlossFinish=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _Transparency=Yes

Unknown command: _Transparency=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _TextureMap=Yes

Unknown command: _TextureMap=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _TransparencyMap=Yes

Unknown command: _TransparencyMap=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _BumpMap=Yes

Unknown command: _BumpMap=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _EnvironmentMap=Yes

Unknown command: _EnvironmentMap=Yes

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ): _Enter

Choose option ( Object  Material  Visible=Yes ):

Command: _Enter

Command: _Enter

Command: _Enter

Also, now when I try to render, the object that I was able to adjust the scaling on turns out like this:

Keep in mind that this is a completed render.

Anyone have any thoughts or advice on how to solve this seemingly simple issue of materials mapping?

-Stefan

Hi Stefan- you can modify the repeat values in the texture (this will affect all objects using this texture), or, per object, in the object's Properties > mapping page. Select the Surface mapping icon to show the UVW repeat on the object.
