hi

i drew this thing in a way which i feel is the wrong or long way.. is there a better way?

basically, i'd like to extend curves with an arc of a specified radius.. i ended up using tangent circles then trimming.. with a few hundred more of these to do, i'd like to see if there's a better way before proceeding..

thanks

Hi Jeff- start Extend, with no selection, and Enter to get past the boundary selection stage. Set Type=Arc and then choose the Center option- at this point you can type in the desired radius and then the center pick will be constrained to that distance. Pick the Center you want and extend away. Any luck?

yeah.. i think that's it.

i had problems getting the extension to remain coplanar with the existing curve but i think i'm figuring it out now..

i'm running out for errands now but will be working on this drawing a little later in the day.. i'll report back.

thanks for helping me!

ok.. that works better.

the wording in that command just tripped me up i think..

i wish it would remember the input but i like that it stays active after drawing the arc..

(though i can imagine there are reasons as to why it doesn't remember the value each time?)

Here's a Grasshopper solution to you problem.  The result is essentially instantaneous once you enter the input curves using a simple window selection box.

can't wait though... i'm always watching grasshopper videos just to get a little head start..
