Extrusion problems

Hey all -

 

With the new lightweight extrusions I have lately been running into trouble. In trying to explode an extrusion (a straight extrusion of a curve into a closed volume), I am told that I "cannot explode single surfaces," and when trying to use the "convertExtrusion" command, I get "Unable to convert one extrusion." I also cannot load them in as BReps into grasshopper. The shapes are fairly complicated planar curves that are extruded a fairly short distance.

 

Any idea why this is happening? Anything I can do to avoid having to rebuild them all from scratch?

I have finally reproduced this problem! attached is a file containing an extrusion that fails to explode or convert to a polysurface.
