Hi all,
First time poster here. I'm having problems running the offset surface command on an object I've created in a different program and imported into Rhino. The program sees the object no problem and i'm able to select it without running a command, however, when I run the offset surface command it asks me to select an object. I attempt to select the object and it will not let me.
I have included the model below:

I have 3 competing theories:
1) my model is 'broken' and needs to be fixed before i perform the command
2) my model is not a 'surface' but rather seen as a mesh or a complex curve and I need to extrapolate it into a surface
3) my version of the software is corrupt and I need to re-install and update again.
Let me know your thoughts. I've been at this one command for days with no answer!
My overall goal is to take this single mesh object with a 0 depth and be able to 'thicken' it to make it a 3d model to be able to put it through a 3d printer. Currently what happens when I 3d print it is that it sees it as a 2d and therefore 0 length depth and doesn't it print it as it is considered a 0 volume mass.
