Rhino crashes on file open

Hi!

Updating to latest beta causes Rhino crash on opening the file.This happens only with certain files that worked ok prior update. Enough tries to open file causes Microsoft to throw some sort of .NET-error. First thaught it Flamingo lights, but other files with lighting work ok.

Allows Insert on same file but no Import.

Had no luck using File tools (recover). Attached an example file. I have like 7 or so similar files and issue seems affect (as far as I know) 1 project so far.

Tried already fresh Rhino install but issue persists. Working on to test the files on 32-bit version.

Hi:
My guess is a plug-in you have loaded either from V4 or V5 is haging problems reading data stored in the file.

Here's how to isolate the plug-in...
Go into Tools - Options - Plug-ins, and remove the Enable check mark for all V4 plug-ins and any others you may have added like Flamingo nXt. Then restart Rhino and verify that the problem is gone. that will get your Rhino going in the mean time.
Then you can systematical,y re-enable them one at a time, and restart Rhino, until you find the offending tool.

Thanks for reply.

I don't remember exactly what it was but tech support said after file analysis that there was a rogue plug-in tube light somewhere very far from the actual model that caused the crash, in a way outside the "perimeter". If I recall correctly there will be a fix in next update.
