Hi all,

Anyone knows how to update the link for the location of an image which has been inserted into Rhino using the PictureFrame method?

Thank you!

Open Properties (F3), select the PictureFrame, change to the Material property type. In the Textures pane under Color, you'll see the image file name with a three dots browse tool.

Go find your file.

Thank you John! I wonder if for next Rhino versions this could be made more straightforward.

Also because the path is not direct, would be great if it could be added to the help file?

Just some sugg...

I don't know. The issue is if you wanted to apply a color texture to a surface, what I described is how you would do it. The PictureFrame command is sort of a shortcut for the people like me that don't get into that sort of thing very often.

The problem the PictureFrame command addressed was how difficult the BackgroundBitmp command was to find and use. It was viewport dependent and you could only have one image per viewport. By then we had the texture tools for surfaces so we just made an easier-to-use command.

That's how it ended up like it is now.

Hello- PictureFrames are planes with a material applied and the material has the image as a texture, so, select the plane, go to Properties > Material page and in the color texture, you'll see the image listed- you can click to set a different image. Note that if the image is not the same aspect ratio as the original, it will be distorted.
