The openNURBS Initiative provides CAD, CAM, CAE, and computer graphics software developers the tools to accurately transfer 3-D geometry between applications. This the the same code the Rhino uses to read and write its native 3DM files.

The tools provided by openNURBS include:

  • A file format specification and documentation.
  • C++ source code libraries to read and write the file format. Windows, Mac, and Linux are supported.
  • .NET Framework support though the RhinoCommon SDK for Rhino.
  • Quality assurance and revision control.
  • Various supporting libraries and utilities.
  • Technical support.

Note: openNURBS is an open source toolkit for reading and writing models in the 3DM format. Our full-featured development platform is Rhino.
