I am a beginner in the panelling tools world but really eager to experiment with it. I came across a little problem I could not seem to solve: I want to populate a grid with circles, but with the circle to be centred between the grid points? When do panelling from gri
d >panel custom 2D. The choice of grid width/height shifts the circle into the corner, hence the circle is not centered.
I hope I have made my self clear, never so easy to explain things in words.
An example is always helpful to see what you are getting now and what you wish to get.
Your comment is very valid and will see if I can support it in future releases. if I undrestood you right, I think you might need to use ptOrientToGrid. This command gives you more control about the bounding area of the circle. See attached
Thank you Rajaa for your quick reply. I tried what you suggested, but did not get the same result as you did. See attached: I created my grid on the surface, a circle and centre point, and applied the ptOrientToGrid, the origin being the centre point. How did you create your attachment? Thanks for your time it is much appreciated:)
In the example I gave, there are 4 points bounding the circle that I used the lower left as base, the lower right as x direction point, the upper left as y direction point, and the upper right as the fourth point. This is how the circle got deformed to fit inside the bounding area.
thank you for your help and time Rajaa, I have it working now, have a nice day:)
