"Hi Beverly - you can work directly on a mesh to a certain extent, but what do you need to do? MeshToNURBs will just make a face for each triangle, which is not at all the same as reverse engineering and probably not useful in your case even apart…"

Here are 2 reverse engineering questions from a beginner:  1.  I have some .stl triangle polygon mesh scans that I’ve imported into Rhino 5.  Which plug in is best to change it into NURBS? The mesh file sizes are around 50 MB and  I’ve read that the MeshToNurb command is not the way to go as it can increase the file size by quite a bit. 2.  Or can I work directly with the mesh?  See More
