The Floor View (Top/Plan), when the Plan View mode is enabled, only shows the current level sectioned and the projection of all visible objects situated underneath. The section of that floor is determined by the Cut Plane height value of…"
Hi.While in the Floor view (Top/Plan) I often experience that planar lines I draw on the floor level are either not selectable or visible (or both). While going into Perspective view or rotating the view I can see them and select them. When I try to use these lines as the basis for spaces, the spaces also disappear from a top/plan view and are only seen in perspective.Am I missing something?Best RegardsEirikSee More
You can extract the solid used for the subtraction (or addition) with the _vaWallExtract command. Then you can modify it and repeat the "Wall: subtract/Add Solids" command again.
There is no way to edit the solid used…"
Yes, that's the plan. This is the way it works with walls now, when you add a solid to it, or you subtract a solid from it. You can still edit the wall parametrically and the subtraction/addition is kept.
When we have this feature on…"
"Hi Francesc, and thank you for your quick reply to this and my other thread.
Ok, I will explode them, or rather just use the Rhino elements for slab and roof then. A good option would be to attach a solid object to slab/roof/wall and to be able to…"
I regret to say that the roofs have the same limitations than the slabs in terms of subtracting solids from them. So in that case the only solution right now is to explode the roof and working with it as a polysurface.
Hopefully we will…"
The only way to achieve that is exploding the slab object, in order that it becomes a polysurface, and then trimming it following the roof slope.
In future versions we will allow doing boolean operations between VA slabs and Rhino solids.…"
You are probaby better of posting some of this on the Grasshopper forum:
Especially if you are trying to get the opinions of those who have written code for both Grasshopper and Rhino.
I should also mention…"
Hi Group.I am an architecture student with a background from informatics. I have been using Grasshopper for a while, but find that I mostly put a lot of functionality in the c#-script button and I have no idea how to achieve all of that (loops, etc.) in Grasshopper. Since this environment doesn't provide any debugging and I have an (maybe false) notion that rhino plugins perform faster, I am trying to migrate my scripting endeavours to rhinocommon plugin development in Visual Studio…See More
