"If the file is good, they can stitch the IGES into a solid in Inventor or SW.  Some people actually prefer IGES to SW to let the software do its own stitching... ----H"

"IIRC Solidworks can now import Rhino files directly, but probably not Inventor.  ACIS should work for Inventor. IGES will work for both, but the file will be surfaces and not solids... ----H"

hi,i'm working on a project in rhino which needs to go to an engineer tomorrow.. the firm mainly uses solidworks and inventor..can someone tell me the best way to export so they'll be able to view the drawings properly. (i'm mainly concerned with maintaining proper layer visibility and naming scheme).. i'm on mac so my export options are probably more limited (i'll attach a shot of the options).. and i can't get the other apps on my computer in order for me to test myself..i guess the best…See More

"probably not what you're after but if you want the sides to remain flat like the 3 lower surfaces, just draw a triangle up top..  but then again, "dome_ish surface" is open to many different interpretations ;) "
