Industrial Design Workflows, what are you doing?

We are experimenting with methods to improve our industrial design workflows. Rhino is an option. What are others folks methods? Our workflow goes like this:1. Ideation and concept drawings are done in Photoshop. Overlays from former CAD files (SolidWorks and Unigraphics) maybe used to give scale to the sketches. These sketches are done in a perspective view.2. Once the design is agreed on, Photoshop is used to create concept orthographic views.3. The orthographic views are used to create…See More

"Alright, This is really helpful.  I think we should call this topic finished.  I'll try my hand at a simple script this week and show it off in a new formum topic, no matter how simple.   Thanks, guys. P"

"Rhinoscript is based on vbScript (not VB) they are two different animals, although the syntax is similar in a lot of cases.  VBScript is quite a bit easier and but less powerful - however for most Rhinoscripting tasks it's more than…"

Chris Tietjen replied to PurrDaddy's discussion How do you draw a spline perpendicular from a surface?
"The Rhinoscript editor is built-in in Rhino 5.  You'll find it at Tools>Rhinoscript>Edit.  If you already understand VB then you shouldn't have any trouble with coding Rhinoscript which is based on VBScript."

"Chris, Thanks for the excelent introduction to Rhino Scripting.  I have not had time to look for it, so I'll just ask, is Rhion Scripts an add-in or is it within Rhino 5.0?   I had noticed it looked like VBA, I am glad that it is…"

"When you open the Rhinoscript editor this is what you see.  On the left you have expanding folders that contain the Rhinoscript methods that are available.  On the right is the editing window with the basic syntax in place to start a…"

"This approach seems to work for me under build 5.1.30129.1756. Using cplane inside the curve command makes the cplane coplaner with the second surface even though the first surface remains selected, so you can still use elevator mode to draw a…"
