History issues on Win8

I've moved Rhino to a new computer with Win8 PL (running on Intel I5, Quadro 600 - previously it was on a system with i7, win7 pl). Thought all is ok, but after day of work we've noticed that after a while objects become uneditable - you can't move a point, flip surface and so on. The strange thing was that when you opened the same file on the same computer but on a different user account it became editable again - only to lock one more time after a while. With some experiments we've found the…See More

"No, just Rhino . As for plugins - Tsplines, Neon, Auxpecker. Thx for your help Pascal. Atm I'm considering making new, clean Rhino install and not updating to latest version . As I rely heavily on 3d printing meshing is critical to my workflow…"

"@Pascal: any updates on the issue? I've reported the same problem a while back (but in PL version of Win7). Is there a way to downgrade Rhino to version prior to recent patch? Or any suggestion how we can get around this. I'm getting…"

"thx Andrew - I've assumed that emission color will work as in Rhino render , so it won't actually cast light :D . Will see how it will work out - hope I'll be able to set the strength of the glow as well."

James Carruthers replied to Przemek's discussion Glowing objects?
"The "emission color" setting can make an object look like it's lit-up, but it's not actually going to emit light with the basic Rhino renderer."

Glowng objects?

Recently I've started playing with rendering options inside Rhino. With Neon it is fun to play with those. But I'm not sure howto make a glowing object inside it. Is it possible or does it require some extra render engine? So far I've tried to find a solution by adding some extra lights (point lights etc) but results are not that good.See More
