"David, Yes, of course it locks up during saves, but that's to be expected, I think. What I'm experiencing doesn't seem to be intended behavior. Pascal, Oh boy. Is it a plug-in thing? I have several going. DIVA, Grasshopper, Maxwell,…"

"unable to cancel current command"

Rhino 5 SR3 64 bit, Windows 7Occasionally, seemingly at random, Rhino locks up. It appears to be in the middle of a command, so the viewport is functional, but I can't run any other commands, including open, save, and exit. Most commands just do nothing, however if I try to open a file I get a dialog box with the message: "Can't open file, unable to cancel current command." Any suggestions? Thanks,TrygveSee More

Trygve Wastvedt replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion Toolbar button separator disappearing
"Thanks for the fast reply, as always! This seems strange to me though. If I have buttons in multiple rows, I still read the buttons as rows, and so a separator is still meaningful. I imagine it would get weird if the toolbar was much taller and…"

Pascal Golay replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion Toolbar button separator disappearing
"Hi Trygve - it is known, and is in fact by design since the separators are unlikely to end up in reasonable locations when the toolbar is resized- we found that the separators became worse than useless except by chance. -Pascal pascal@mcneel.com"

Toolbar button separator disappearing

Steps to reproduce:Show a toolbar, for example "Drafting"Stretch out toolbar box so that all the buttons fit on one line.Note that there are some separators between sections of buttonsMake the toolbar tall enough to fit several rows of buttonsShrink the width so that some buttons are forced onto a second line. When the second button jumps down to the second line, all of the separators disappear.Sorry if this is already known, it's just been bugging me. Thanks!TrygveSee More

Jacob Bloom replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion WalkAbout movement direction not changed by orbiting
"Hi,  I see that this thread is fairly old, but it seems that the problem still exists in SR1.  When you orbit in walkabout view it doesn't reset the target.  As soon as you pan, the target jumps to the new location.  If you…"

"OK, I have just installed the SR1 RC on this computer and I am now seeing exactly what Trygve is seeing - the CB highlight is now solid white and you don't see the curves underneath.  This really needs to be fixed for SR1, as it makes the…"

Helvetosaur replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion CurveBoolean shading
"Nope, it's been a fill for a long time (since Rhino 4 at least).  The outlines are also thickened. However, the fill is not a solid color, it's a sort of transparent shade of yellow here, and I can see the highlighted interior curves…"

Trygve Wastvedt replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion CurveBoolean shading
"James, Thanks for your reply. I do know how Curveboolean works though. It's definitely still working for me - shading the right parts, and finding closed islands. The highlight just shows up as solid white fill, hiding anything inside the shape…"

James Carruthers replied to Trygve Wastvedt's discussion CurveBoolean shading
"Hmm, if it's all shaded, then it's telling you it's not seeing the "islands" you want to click in, they're open or something, otherwise it wouldn't fill them in. Assuming the shading is working as normal."

CurveBoolean shading

In the past when I've used curveboolean, the new boundary is highlighted with a thick line (during the command). Now, when I run it, the regions found by the command are shaded, preventing me from seeing any geometry inside them. This is a problem when I have a complex set of lines with many islands that I want to click in, but can't see. Is there a setting I accidentally changed? Thanks.TrygveSee More
