Hi everyone. I am thinking of picking up Rhino as a product / industrial designer and I'm wondering how difficult / long it will take for me to be professionally proficient at it if I am already quite proficient at Solidworks (including 3D sketches and surface modelling).

HI Thomas, there is really no set answer. For example, you build curve to surface to solid in Rhino but you build solid in solidwork directly. I will suggest you get on the basic tutorials first and understand the fundamental Rhino concept. If you already know another 3D program, that is a plus, which mean you are familiar with the perspective and orthographic view. Getting use to the interface and different way to build solid may take sometimes. There are a lot of free tutorials in our community. Good luck and let me know if you have questions that I can help later on.
