Hi, i'm trying to turn a gear assembly into a solid model for exporting to 3d printer (*.stl), the basic tooth patterns of the gears are made of mesh surfaces, converttosolid and such cannot grab hold of it and I cannot extrude any of the faces. Attached to simple bosses which are easy to make to solids. As a reasonable newb can you help me on my quest as I'm finding it hard to source info from the tutorials. Many thanks in advance. Joolz

STL is a mesh format. Assuming your mesh is accurate and closed, just select the mesh and use Export, selecting the STL file format.

STL does not support NURBS surfaces. Surfaces have to be replaced with meshes to export to STL.
