export from Rhino 4 to SketchUp

How can I export from Rhino3d to SketchUp?

I downloaded a plugin (export_skp) ... it doesn't show up.

I tried different formats, it is a big mess.

What is the best way and cleanest way to export from Rhino3d to SketchUp?

Move Vertices of closed Polysurface with Gumball?

Hi there,

I found out that it is possible to to scale, rotate, move faces of a closed polysurface by pressing SHIFT + CRTL + Left Mouse Button on a surface. When this is possible there has to be a function where i can move single vertices, but i can´t find it :)

Can someone help me please :) Exploding, Moving Vertices and Joining them back together takes too much time :(

Greedz :)

Hi all as you can see I am trying to create a mesh from a simple grid that I've done with nurbs just a surface from 3-4 corner points.

I've been trying to figure out WHY, sometimes it is very arbitrary that when I do mesh from a nurb sometimes it will give you a horizontal line across the plane and sometimes it wont and sometimes it will give you both horizontal and vertical....It is very bugging and I really want to know why and how i can control this...

Can Rhino panels be truely curved to follow surfaces?

Can flat pattern lines generated in a panel in Rhino 5 be made to follow the contours of a curved surface or is that only possible in Grasshopper?

Should I upgrade to Rhino 5 and what rendering software to use

Hey all!

New to the forum. Just getting back into using Rhino as I'm starting to design and build furniture again. I have Rhino 4 which I bought as an architecture student and I have loved it ever since I got the hang of it.

Since, for the time being I am mainly going to be doing furniture design (tables, desks, cabinets, etc) I am wondering what the benefits of upgrading to Rhino 5 would be? As far as building my models, Rhino 4 can handle anything that I come up with,…

So I am trying to make a simple wheel shaped window in a wall by simply extruding the shape. Attached is an image of what I am trying to achieve, but it was made in sketchup. There is also an image of where im at in rhino. Im learning how to use the software, and I cant figure out how to do it. Also attached is an image of the wheel shape.

Finally, is there a way to copy and paste the extruded shape afterwards??

Multiple Pipes Converge on a Single Point

I have piped the edges of a 4 sided pyramid and was wondering if there was any command that would blend the corners of all converging pipes.  Right now the pipes meet at the corner but the corner is not a clean surface.  Any help???…

Extruding two Polylign to surface

Hi everyone,

I'm new with Rhinoceros. My question is can the software extrude a polyline to join another polyline on a different elevation to create a solid?

I have more experience with Autocad, and a way that  A-mine (plug-in for autocad)  do what I wanna do with rhinoceros is to mesh the area between the two polylines and create a surface from that mesh.

Thanks you,

Need help fixing naked edges

I am quite new to Rhino 5 and learning it now going through tutorials.  I am having a hard time fixing some naked edges modeling a shampoo bottle right now.  I modeled the bottle grip details on one side and then mirrored it to the other side, but for some strange reason, the mirrored geo did not line up perfectly even though I started modeling with the center being at the origin.

I've attached the rhino file if someone could please enlighten me on how to fix this…

Extending multiple surfaces to meet and join each other

I started with a large polysrf composed mainly on triangles meeting at different angles, exploded it and offset the individual srfs, now I need to create a new polysrf by extending and joining all of these srfs together.  Essentially it needs to be the same polysrf but larger by the offset distance.

The original joined polysrf will not offset properly, I've tried JoinEdge, ConnectSrf, MatchSrf, ExtendSrf, as well as everything else in my bag of tricks.

The offset srf represents…

Extrusion into Arch

Hi all,

I am new to Rhino and trying it out. As per the JPEG I am trying to extrude a shape (yellow) into the grey arch, I have used Boolean split to seperate all parts and then delete the extrusion so I only have an arch with the cut out shape in it. Basically the Program then tells me that I have run out…

Using Rhino for complex stair parts

Just beginning to integrate Rhino into my CAD/CAM/3D design process and generating custom stair parts for 3 & 5 axis machining. Recently completed some tests with a current stair project and machined the wreath rails on a 5 axis CNC. All rail blocks were created in Rhino, tooled and posted via AlphaCAM.

Project plan view of a simple flared stair with bowed risers…

looking for some to write a simple script

I am looking for someone to write a rhino script that will work on a folder with multiple files.  What I want to do is change the object properties to a dark shade of green from the default which is black.  So In a nut shell what i want is open file, select all, change object color to dark green and save.  I have tried with my limited knowledge and can't seem to get it to work.  Hope some one can help.
